Not sure what to do with your parents this weekend? Sad your parents aren’t coming to visit you? Looking to have a fantastic time laughing all your troubles away? Then you should probably go see Wash. U.’s K.A.R.L. Improv as it performs alongside some of the largest names in improvisation this weekend at the Compass Improv Festival.
They start off screaming. Thirteen lunatics put their body and soul into shouting, “I get knocked down,” from the song “Tubthumping” by British punk band Chumbawamba, so loudly that a security guard enters the Gargoyle, surveys the group and shakes his head. It only gets weirder; some radioactive dads drop in, wolf soup is made and pants almost hit the ground.
Last weekend, they hosted their annual Don’t Come to the Show Show. Not slowing down, the group is spending this weekend hosting special guests all the way from Los Angeles: FrankenMatt. FrankenMatt is an improv duo that consists of Frank Caeti and Matt Craig. Craig is a Wash. U. alum and former Pot Roaster who boasts an impressive resume.
