In stark contrast to the glitz and glamour of the parade itself, the scene on the ground was quite a different story. From the desperate clamoring for strings of plastic to the immense pride that people took in their creative drinking methods, my first St. Louis Mardi Gras was unforgettable and packed with chaos.
