No. 10 softball sweeps Emory to win UAA championship

The No. 10 WashU softball team are University Athletic Association (UAA) champions for the first time since 2017 after sweeping Emory University on May 9 and 10. The Bears comfortably won their first conference title since 2017 with a record of 17-1 against UAA teams. WashU was also the only UAA team with a win percentage over .750.

No. 11 WashU softball sweeps Carnegie Mellon, nearing the end of the regular season

The No. 11 WashU softball team swept Carnegie Mellon University in a three game series. The Bears now have an impressive 14-1 record and rank first in the University Athletic Association (UAA). WashU has now secured a share of the UAA title and one more win next weekend would secure a solo conference victory, which would be its first since 2017. This helps the Bears’ position going into regionals, which begin May 15, and super regionals, starting on May 22. Finals will take place the next week, beginning on May 29, and will be held in Bloomington, Illinois.

No. 12 WashU softball sweeps Brandeis in three-game series, capped off with a mercy-rule win

The Bears swept the Judges on April 18 and 20, extending a season-high win streak to 12 consecutive games. With 12 games in the books against University Athletic Association (UAA) opponents — and an 11-1 record against them — this year’s team has a chance to claim WashU softball’s first outright UAA title since 2017.

No. 14 softball sweeps NYU, extends win streak to seven

The No. 14 WashU softball team traveled to New York City to face conference opponent New York University. The Bears swept the three-game series, winning 3-0 on Friday, April 4, and the doubleheader on Sunday, April 4, 3-3 and 8-1, extending their winning streak to seven games.

Softball sweeps UChicago 3-0

The  No. 18 WashU softball team dominated against The University of Chicago, winning all three games against the Maroons on March 28 and 29. The Bears are now 18-5 for the year and 5-1 in the University Athletic Association (UAA).

Softball competes in five doubleheaders over a busy Spring Break trip, going 8-2

WashU played a series of doubleheaders over the break, starting with the University of Wisconsin–Stout on March 8 and winning both games at the WashU Softball Field. The Bears then flew to California to play games on March 11 against Occidental College and won. Then, on March 14, there was another set of games against the No. 9 University of Redlands, where the Bears won one out of the two games. Entering the weekend on March 15, WashU played University of La Verne, winning one of the two games. The Bears won their final doubleheader series on March 16 against Whittier College to end the Spring Break schedule.

‘Now we build from here’: Softball’s regional run sparks hope for next season

Coming off a 20-18 2023 season, the Bears improved to 28-12 in head coach Casey Cromwell’s second season at WashU. The team clinched a berth in the NCAA regional tournament, which the Bears hosted for the first time in program history, before being eliminated in the regional finals.

Casey Cromwell’s holistic approach takes WashU softball into a new era

Casey Cromwell joined the WashU softball program as the head coach this year after the departure of Michelle Venturella. She previously coached at neighboring Fontbonne University for five years.
