The No. 14 WashU softball team traveled to New York City to face conference opponent New York University. The Bears swept the three-game series, winning 3-0 on Friday, April 4, and the doubleheader on Sunday, April 4, 3-3 and 8-1, extending their winning streak to seven games.
The WashU baseball team played against Case Western Reserve University this weekend in a four-game series to start University Athletic Association (UAA) play. WashU lost 7-13 and 9-12 on Friday, March 28, before splitting Saturday with a 14-1 win and a 9-11 loss on March 29.
WashU played a series of doubleheaders over the break, starting with the University of Wisconsin–Stout on March 8 and winning both games at the WashU Softball Field. The Bears then flew to California to play games on March 11 against Occidental College and won. Then, on March 14, there was another set of games against the No. 9 University of Redlands, where the Bears won one out of the two games. Entering the weekend on March 15, WashU played University of La Verne, winning one of the two games. The Bears won their final doubleheader series on March 16 against Whittier College to end the Spring Break schedule.
WashU played three games against University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point on March 8 and 9, winning all three games. The Bears battled Coe College on March 10 and lost, but won against Westminster on March 12. To end their Spring Break schedule, the Bears played on March 15 and 16 against Gustavus Adolphus College in back-to-back doubleheaders, winning two out of the four matches.
Mudd Field will close on May 13 and will not open until Fall 2028. While the first-years will have their senior year to utilize the space, this semester is every grade’s last opportunity to play on Mudd Field as WashU undergraduates. Below are some unique sports that people can play on the field to add an extra memory to their WashU memory bank.
The WashU softball team split its second weekend of play, losing 4-3 and winning 5-3 against No.11 Central College and falling 3-1 to No. 20 Calvin University on Feb. 28 and Mar 1.
The WashU baseball team opened their season, defeating Aurora College 6-1 and 4-1 in a doubleheader on Feb. 23.
During a weekend on the road, the WashU women’s basketball team fell to Brandeis University 68-57 and No. 1 New York University 77-58 on Feb. 7 and 9. The Bears are now 4-5 in conference play and 13-7 overall.
