What film am I thinking of? It’s an independent flick featuring an unlikely friendship between two men played by Greg Sestero and Tommy Wiseau.
It was 12:41 a.m. when we finally caught a glimpse of him through the forest of star-struck fans, merchandise tables and Tivoli employees. Tommy Wiseau was in the building.
It’s not often I get to recommend one of the worst films ever made as an enjoyable weekend pastime, but here we are.
Widely hailed as one of the worst films of all time, “The Room” is coming back to the Tivoli on Friday and Saturday night at midnight. Written by, directed by, and starring Tommy Wiseau, the movie has garnered a large cult following with some serious traditions.
Every so often, a movie comes along and it has everything: a great plot, believable characters, witty dialogue and a certain joie de vivre. “The Room,” a 2003 independent film, is in no way such a movie. But it is so absurdly, immensely and amazingly bad that you have to see it to believe it.
