A not-so-definitive ranking of my favorite teen dramedies

It seems like teen dramedies have reigned supreme for almost 20 years now, and some of them were definitely better than others. Here’s a top 10 countdown of my favorite shows from this category for you to watch the next time you’re looking for a new TV show to binge:

That show was still on? The rise and fall of ‘Glee’

Last week, “Glee” aired its series finale. Confused because you didn’t know it was still on? I know that I was.

A “Smash”-ing Disappointment

For anyone who enjoys music, television or Broadway, “Smash” seemed like it was going to answer all of our prayers. A great cast with some amazing singers and actors and an amazing concept—a behind-the-scenes look at creating a Broadway show—what could go wrong?

‘Glee’ returns after seven-week hiatus

Here’s what you missed on “Glee”—wait, you haven’t missed much, because “Glee” hasn’t aired a new episode since Feb. 21, 2012. The show took a seven-week hiatus to accommodate the crowding caused in the Fox schedule by trying to air 13-episode seasons of “Alcatraz” and “Touch” in the same time slot over a four-month period.

NBC wants new Monday-night lineup to be a ‘Smash’ hit

The new musical in town wants to be clear that it’s nothing like “Glee.” Other than the fact that it’s a musical, this is a statement I can agree with. Tonight, at 9 p.m. CST, NBC will premiere “Smash,” its new follow-up to “The Voice.” The show has a grown-up premise, unlike its “Glee”-ful competitor.

We are the 99%, not in Glee Club

Let me start this off by saying that I love “Glee.” Or at least I watch it every week, because I’ve committed myself to it, and I’m entertained by anything. But as I watch each and every episode, and I watch these high school kids go through their struggles, I can’t help but feel bad…for everyone else in McKinley High.

6 spinoffs that should happen
