‘Leral’: A night spent honoring the vibrancy within African culture 

The African Students Association’s (ASA) annual fashion show aims to bring a bold and beautiful display of African culture, dancing, and fashion to Graham Chapel this Saturday. This year’s show is titled “Leral” and intends to highlight African Iridescence: The Vibrancy Of Heritage.

A daring and colorful display of Blackness and African culture, the African Students Association’s 2020 Fashion Show and cultural exposition reminded audience members to look to the past in order to grab on to the future, Friday, Feb. 28. Hosted by sophomores Nana Kusi and Yohanes Mulat, the African Students Association (ASA) brought us into the future with this year’s theme, “Sankofa: Into the Afroverse.”

Founded in 2005, ASA’s purpose is to educate the Washington University community and the St. Louis community about the breadth of culture found in Africa.
