Seeds of tomorrow: Kemper Art Museum’s newest exhibition

From soil degradation to waste disposal, the ecological concerns of the 21st century are becoming increasingly worrisome. Aiming to highlight these environmental risks and sustainability challenges, the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum unveiled its new exhibition titled “Seeds: Containers of a World to Come,” on Feb. 21.

‘Leral’: A night spent honoring the vibrancy within African culture 

The African Students Association’s (ASA) annual fashion show aims to bring a bold and beautiful display of African culture, dancing, and fashion to Graham Chapel this Saturday. This year’s show is titled “Leral” and intends to highlight African Iridescence: The Vibrancy Of Heritage.

Expectations vs. Reality: first-year dorms

From late-night dorm hangouts with new friends, triples converted to doubles, ping-pong and foosball tables in common rooms and elevators, air conditioning, ice machines and filtered water dispensers on each floor, to stolen laundry in the dryer, flooded bathroom floors, and burnt microwave popcorn that has left a lingering smell, the dorms on the South 40 provide the all-encompassing first-year dorm experience, full of highlights and horror stories.

Live from St. Louis: Kids On Campus performs their annual sketch-comedy show

A semester full of humorous moments, comedic mess-ups, rethinking jokes, and satirical brainstorming sessions culminated in WashU’s premiere sketch-comedy club’s — Kids On Campus’ (KOC) — annual performance. Featuring 21 different sketch-comedy acts, a live band rocking record-breaking hits, and a full-fledged production team and crew, the show was a theatrical and electrifying production that left the audience wishing for more.

Delish on Delmar: Reviving Delmar Boulevard

Local pop-up restaurants and artisan booths lined the streets of the Delmar Maker District as live music played and people of all ages celebrated the revival of Delmar Boulevard for this year’s Delish on Delmar. The festival, held on Friday, Oct. 18, welcomed various food vendors, local boutiques, and musicians from around St. Louis in an effort to showcase the sounds, smells, and tastes that St. Louis has to offer.

Inside “Design Agendas”: the newest exhibition at the Kemper Art Museum

The Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum has unveiled its newest exhibit, titled “Design Agendas: Modern Architecture in St. Louis, 1930s-1970s.” This exhibit, which will run until January 2025, features multimedia pieces highlighting St. Louis architecture, through the context of social and spatial changes in a post-World War II society.

Uncle Joe’s stops 24/7 service

With the start of the new semester, Uncle Joe’s Peer Counseling & Resource Center announced that they will no longer be providing 24-hour services, a change that was mandated by the Washington University administration. Their new hours of operation are from 7–1 a.m. by phone and from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m in person at their office on the South 40 in Gregg House.
