This Sunday, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Rebecca Black, awarding her the honor of “Worst Song of All Time” for her single “Friday.” Black joins the ranks of such esteemed artists as Joan Jett, Patti Smith and Tina Turner.

“We weren’t expecting it at all,” said Black’s mother, Georgina Marquez Kelly. Kelly was spotted sneaking a check worth an undisclosed amount to the curator of the Hall.

When asked about the check, the young Black seemed unaware of the supposed transaction.

“The only money I know about is going toward my new bike,” Black said. “I just mastered riding on two wheels. Good bye training wheels, hello big-girl bicycle!”

The ceremony took place in the main auditorium at 7 p.m. Lady Gaga played hostess and had only lovely things to say about the Hall’s newest inductee.

“Her use of auto tune really speaks volumes about her views of modern society,” Gaga said. “The over-utilization of computerized technology in her first single acts as a vehicle for her belief, that our civilization is too ingrained in useless machinery.”

“Her genius is in her ability to show complete ruination of American musical culture,” Gaga said. “The magic is in the crudeness.”

Black’s “Friday” replaces 2004 inductee William Hung’s rousing rendition of “She Bangs.”

Hung was unable to be reached but his publicist offered this comment:

“Though devastated at his sudden removal from the Hall, William sends only the warmest of regards toward Miss Black and wishes her congratulations on her recent induction.”

A press conference was scheduled to take place after the official program, but it was canceled as it was past Black’s bedtime, and she had “a wicked hard pre-algebra exam” early the next morning.
