Francis Field will host Washington University’s Relay for Life on Saturday night.

The steering committee of this year’s Relay at the University announced that the event will proceed as originally planned. The Athletic Complex had been designated the alternate venue in the event of inclement weather.

The thunderstorms that will cover the St. Louis metro area Friday night through Saturday morning are expected to pass by the time of the event.

The current forecast for the opening ceremonies at Relay for Life is for mostly clear skies and a temperature of 39 degrees Fahrenheit. The low temperature for Saturday night is expected to hover around 28.
