Weather subdues CS40 Fall Fair

| Contributing Reporter

Dismal weather and technical issues dampened Sunday’s Fall Fair slated to cost the Congress of the South 40 around $2,000.

The event, which featured free funnel cakes, a huge inflatable and activities such as pumpkin carving and pin the tail on the elephant failed to attract many students.

Due to missing extension cords, the 45-foot inflatable obstacle course on the Swamp deflated the entire time from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Many groups which had signed up to man booths at the event failed to show up.

The event was planned as a part of Fall South 40 Week, spanning from Oct. 25 to Nov. 4.

“[It was] another event to get students to get out, get on campus, meet people and enjoy the campus experience,” sophomore Bailey Breems, CS40 Swamp chair, said.

“We wanted to have a large scale event in the fall and do WUStock in the spring,” sophomore Amanda Garcia, director of services for CS40, added.

In upcoming weeks, CS40 will be seeking student input on who to host for this spring’s WUStock event.
