BREAKING: Student found dead in East End construction site

A Washington University student was found dead early Friday morning in the East End construction site, an all-school email from Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Lori White confirmed Friday afternoon.

The University has not identified the student publicly, but has informed the student’s roommates and parents, who are currently en route to St. Louis. The Washington University Police Department and St. Louis County Police are working in partnership and have opened an investigation into the incident.

Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs Jill Friedman confirmed to Student Life that there is no indication of foul play. According to a news release by the University, the cause of death is currently unknown. The body was discovered by a worker at 8 this morning.
