Yongsang Soh, a senior in the College of Arts & Sciences, passed away off campus early Saturday morning, local police have confirmed.

According to an incident summary released by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Soh fell to his death from the 23rd floor of The Dorchester at Forest Park apartment building on S. Skinker Boulevard sometime between 5 a.m. Saturday morning and 9:12 a.m., when a jogger discovered the body and informed authorities.

The victim was pronounced dead on the scene and there were no signs of foul play, according to the report. But SLMPD declined further comment because the investigation is ongoing.

Soh, an international student from Korea, was a Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology major in the class of 2014.

The University was informed of his death Saturday evening and reached out to the family while also putting grief counseling services in place, school officials said. Chancellor Mark Wrighton informed students and community members of his passing in a University-wide email Monday.

The family has not yet released details about any funeral or observances that may be held.

Student Life will update this post as more details emerge.
