Although some of the riffs seem reused, Urban’s songs are fresh while retaining the sound he’s developed over the past decade. Tracks like “You Gonna Fly” and “Long Hot Summer” make one long for the freedom of summer. The lyrics are upbeat, and even slower songs such as “All For You” will put a smile on your face.

The biggest flaw of “Get Closer” is that, with only eight songs, it doesn’t seem as developed as past releases. Nevertheless, it’s a solid album that country fans will enjoy.
