Vibrant colors, exciting acts, and lively music will soon light up the stage at Edison Theater this Friday (Jan. 31) and Saturday (Feb. 1) when students take center stage for the Lunar New Year Festival (LNYF), a yearly celebration of East Asian and Southeast Asian cultures.
As part of ASA’s annual Africa Week, they hosted “Taste of Africa,” an event where students discovered the vibrant flavors of Africa. This event marked the end of Africa Week, a period dedicated to celebrating the diversity of African culture. The theme for this year’s Africa Week was Inkululeko, meaning freedom, empowerment, and the future of Africa.
After careful evaluation of Student Life’s coverage and staff diversity audits, we realized that the paper doesn’t represent the diversity of ethnicities, religions, and perspectives that make up the WashU community.
