We need to replace our short-form content with entertainment that sparks excitement and creativity and, unlike short-form content, forces us to be aware of what we’re consuming.

Suddenly, we knew two to three sapphics in each of our social circles. The community already existed; we just needed a way to see it.
After hearing the news about two of our research librarians being fired this summer, I was shocked. WashU’s choice to respond to budget cuts in this way signals that our university is not valuing our librarians and their support for students.
As a student body, we need to support those documenting their authentic experiences and perspectives on WashU, especially since the University doesn’t publicize all aspects of student life. Many college content creators use their platforms to share parts of WashU that need to be changed. These perspectives are important for prospective students to know, current students who may relate, and to advocate for change from the WashU administration and students.
Slasher summer requires us to disconnect from an online and professional presence. When we allow this distance in our lives, we are able to connect with ourselves as people outside of trying to impress others and alter our personality for the workplace

I remember sitting down for the first Intro to Psychology exam, unable to control my pounding heartbeat or shaking hands. It continued for the rest of the day, bringing my anxiety beyond the exam room. I couldn’t sleep through the night and woke up multiple times in a sweat and was unable to return to sleep.
We group other art forms like comic books, graffiti, digital art, and more as lesser-than as well, but when we perpetuate this stereotype on these types of media we cut ourselves off from the power of their art. In doing so, we simultaneously cut ourselves off from different perspectives.
