LouFest Sunday: And that’s a wrap

If you’ve never boarded a Metro-Link bus while listening to a drunken warbling of “Say it Ain’t So” you have not truly lived.

Album Review: ‘Everything Will Be Alright in the End’ by Weezer

Like much of Weezer’s post-“Maladroit” output, “Everything Will Be Alright” represents a lighter, frothier version of the band. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, as Cuomo’s the kind of songwriter who can produce earworms on autopilot. At the least, the entire album is agreeable, if not remarkable, but Cuomo’s lyrics are another matter.

For better or for worse, Weezer continues its onslaught of albums with “Death to False Metal,” the band’s fourth release in three years. If you’re interested in a breakdown of the match-up, “Worse” was up 3-0 coming into this round, but this collection of unreleased B-sides and rarities has enough moxy to make things better.

Jimmy Eat World is 17 years old this year, but while all his friends are applying to college, learning a trade or enlisting in the Army, little Jimmy is having a hard time finding his way. He knows he should grow up, but he’s still putting out the same angsty emo music he was listening to back in middle school, just dressing it up under the guise of maturity.
