Former members of the armed forces answered questions and told stories about their experiences during a panel Friday, marking some Veteran’s Day celebrations at Washington University.
It’s a harsh reality that in war, many of our soldiers end up making the ultimate sacrifice. Yet, even those who are able to come home are not given the proper resources to deal with the wounds, both mental and physical, that occurred while they were serving overseas.
The Danforth Campus may not have closed in observation of Veteran’s Day on Monday, but according to Inside Higher Ed, Washington University has the fourth-highest enrollment of U.S. veteran undergraduates of any of America’s most selective colleges.
