Ever since “Birdbox” was released on Netflix in mid-December, people have been debating whether it holds a candle to “A Quiet Place,” which made its theatrical debut in April 2018.

On Thursday, the latest installment of “American Horror Story” came to life in an eerie and uncomfortable way. The acting was superb, as to be expected when the cast includes Sarah Paulson, Taissa Farmiga, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates and Jessica Lange, and the plot is perfectly gruesome and exciting.

Though it may seem like interest in supernatural dramas is dying down, The CW is hoping to keep loyal viewers attached to the world of vampires with its latest premiere, “The Originals.” Viewers first got a look into the world of the original vampire family with a backdoor pilot in the last season of “The Vampire Diaries.
