Dining Services closed Etta’s Micro-Mart, the self-service food market in Steinberg Hall, on Wednesday, August 17, for an unspecified amount of time. A Farmer’s Fridge vending machine is now available in the same space at all hours.
With talks of the seemingly imminent closing of Etta’s Cafe in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts—and no new alternative eateries in sight—our staff has come up with some suggestions for the soon-to-be hot dog-less art and architecture students. To all of you artsy folk, we salute you.
Dining Services’ decision to cut the main dining options on main campus is rather problematic. While Cafe Bergson and Whispers Cafe remain open, most human beings—yes, even college students—require greater sustenance than packaged salad, pastries and turtle lattes.
Students looking to eat on main campus on the weekend will have to turn to Whispers, Cafe Bergson, Einstein Bros Bagles or Subway, as the Danforth University Center Servery and Etta’s no longer operate on the weekends.
