Women’s tennis duo wins program’s first nationals doubles title at ITA Cup

Over the four-day tournament from Oct. 10-13, Archer and Bui swept the competition, winning four straight matches without dropping a single set.

Women’s tennis faces off in ITA Regionals

In the final event of its abbreviated early season, the Washington University women’s tennis team finished up the fall on a high note. The Bears faced off with players from several different Division III schools and ended the weekend with four singles players in the final 16 and one doubles pairing in the final eight.

Bears extend home winning streak

The No. 5 Washington University men’s tennis team won a pair of close matches, 5-4, over Division II No. 19 Northwest Missouri State University and No. 10 Graceland University over spring break. With these wins, the Bears overcame the biggest threats in recent memory to their four-year home winning streak.

Men’s tennis takes third in singles, doubles at fall nationals

Junior John Watts and seniors Chris Hoeland and Charlie Cutler finished in third place in the singles and doubles competitions respectively at the 2008 Wilson/ITA National Small College Championships held this past weekend in Mobile, Ala.

Bears sweep regionals

The Washington University men’s tennis team took both the singles and doubles titles at the 2008 Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region Championships, a tournament which the team also hosted, this weekend.
