This is the first installment in a series of hard-hitting exposes on Washington University student figures. This week I sat down with junior Matthew Herman, who opened for B.J. Novak at the Social Programming Board spring comedy show and performs with K.A.R.L. Improv! and Kids On Campus.

Social Programming Board handed out tickets yesterday in advance of comedian, writer and actor B.J. Novak’s comedy performance in Graham Chapel.

B.J. Novak’s performance on Wednesday marks the 12th semester in a row that a man has headlined Washington University’s comedy shows. Although Novak’s show was undeniably popular, it’s time to start considering whether picking the first comedian we recognize is the best approach.

Writer, actor and comedian B.J. Novak, best known for his role as the temp Ryan Howard on NBC’s “The Office,” will be performing at Graham Chapel on Wednesday, Feb. 17 for Social Programming Board’s Spring Comedy Show.
