Last Wednesday saw the appointment of the seventh new senator to Student Union this term, calling to attention the unusually large number of resignations. The Senate body, composed of 26 members, lost six of its original senators before the semester even started.
In the wake of last Thursday’s vice presidential debate, politically-oriented student groups have reported a positive response to debate-day political activities and a desire to harness the political energy on campus for the future.
Two weeks ago, the editors of Student Life wrote an editorial encouraging students to engage in politics of “substance.”
