Days after the news of headliners for this spring’s W.I.L.D broke, Team 31 has announced that indie noise pop band Dum Dum Girls will open for Fitz and the Tantrums at April 27th’s Walk In Lay Down concert.

The California based band is the project of singer/songwriter Dee Dee, backed by lead guitarist Jules, drummer Sandy, and bassist Malia. All members also contribute vocals to the act’s lo-fi, 60’s inspired tunes.

The Dum Dum Girls have garnered indie critical acclaim ever since Dee Dee began releasing records under the band name in 2008. Since then they have released two albums “I Will Be” in 2010, and “Only in Dreams” in 2011. Both records were produced by Richard Gottehrer, who has previously worked with Blondie and the Go-Go’s. Expect the act to bring their own, unique, summery blend of brash girl-punk, appealing harmonies and gritty guitars to the Brookings stage this April.

W.I.L.D. will take place in Brookings Quadrangle on April 27. Students will be allowed to enter starting at 5:30 p.m.
