Unique school gives young adults a second chance

“Every 9 seconds in America, a student becomes a dropout.” While this statistic from the 2008 American Youth Policy Forum is shocking, many organizations are trying to combat this trend. Here in St. Louis, the Shearwater Education Foundation’s goal is to re-engage youth in school and help them graduate ready for life.

Harry Potter comes to WU Before the big screens

Starting this Monday, November 15 and lasting until the movie’s release on Friday, November 19, the Congress of the South 40 is hosting all things Harry Potter at the first ever Harry Potter College Hall Cup Tournament. Throughout the week, the residential colleges will compete for points in various games and competitions, and the winner will receive a trophy at Thursday’s party in College Hall.

We all wish that there was a universal understanding of what a hook up actually means, rather than perpetual mystery surrounding the subject. Professor Susan Stiritz is teaches a course this semester titled: “Hooking Up: Healthy Exploration or Harmful Exploitation?” which serves that very purpose.
