A joint session of Treasury and Senate failed to approve the Student Union general budget for the first time in four years Sunday.

This year, use the rare Monday free of classes as an opportunity for personal growth. Considering that students have been on campus for a week and little homework has been assigned since then, there are few excuses to not participate in events on campus or in the greater St. Louis area.

Jason Stockley was acquitted fpr the killing of Anthony Lamar Smith one year ago Sept. 15., a decision sparked protests throughout the city in the following days. In the year since the verdict, Washington University has taken several steps to support students, staff and faculty and to promote diversity and inclusion.
