Track and field displays talent as Bears sweep home invitational

The Washington University track and field teams dominated at the Wash. U. Invitational this weekend, featuring numerous first place finishers and sweeping the team competitions in commanding fashion. The women’s team accumulated 239 points over the 18 events, more than doubling second place Wartburg College’s 103, while the men’s team was the only one to crack triple digits, scoring 186 points across the invitational’s 18 events.

WU volleyball goes 3-1 at Baden Invitational, improves to 22-6

The Washington University volleyball team had a solid weekend at the Baden Invitational. The Bears rebounded from a tough loss Friday with three straight wins.

Men’s soccer secures first win of the season, 2-0 in home opener

The Bears seemed casual and free-spirited, in spite of the 0-3 record that preceded the night. And they capitalized on that energy, defeating Wartburg College 2-0 over the next 90 minutes for their first victory of 2018.

Lillegraven ignites the offense as women’s soccer trumps Wartburg

Blink and you miss it. With the No. 22 Washington University women’s soccer team trailing Wartburg College 0-1 in the second half, senior Olivia Lillegraven scored two goals within 48 seconds. That would be all of the offense for the Red and Green as Wash. U. would go on to win 2-1 in the Saturday afternoon home game.

Baseball struggles on offense in 1-2 opening weekend

The Washington University baseball team hoped to open its season with a strong start against Wartburg and Rhodes Colleges. But after coming through in the clutch against Wartburg, the Bears were swept Sunday at Rhodes to fall below .500 after the opening weekend.

Volleyball reaches NCAA quarterfinal, will host final rounds of tournament

It’s been 14 years since the Washington University women’s volleyball team won back-to-back national championships. Coming home for the finals, the Bears have a chance to bring that streak to an end.

Track and field: Men take first, women third, at WU Select

Be it individual or team successes, the Washington University men’s and women’s track & field teams both had their share of victories this past weekend at the Washington University Select Meet at Bushyhead Track. The men’s team took first place overall out of the four schools that participated. Meanwhile, four members of the women’s team met NCAA provisional qualifying times at the meet.
