The Kia Boyz Tiktok trend, which demonstrates how to steal a Kia or Hyundai in a matter of minutes, took hold over the summer. After being sent home from school in March—in her case, a study abroad program—something had to fill the quarantine void. “I was just sad and in my room, and bored, and I was like ‘I guess I’ll download this, I don’t have anything else better to do with my time now that I have so much time.’”
