Now hear this!: Indie rock band Local Natives play The Pageant tonight

California five-piece Local Natives are making their return to St. Louis on Thursday, April 24. They played Loufest in 2013 and have been continuing their tour in support of last year’s album, “Hummingbird.” They put on a great show at Loufest, so if you missed them then or just want to see them in a more intimate venue, this is the chance.

Spring W.I.L.D. 2014: The breakdown This year, Social Programming Board took a page out of the Congress of the South 40’s book and sent out a list of 10 bands that could possibly play at spring W.I.L.D. 2014, asking students to rank them from 1-10 in a survey. The choices were greeted with encouragement and acclaim on Twitter and Facebook.

Local Natives | “Hummingbird”

After the 2010 release of their debut album “Gorilla Manor,” Los Angeles-based band Local Natives was ascribed quickly to the crowded musical landscape of indie pop. Critics couldn’t help the comparisons; Grizzly Bear-esque soundscapes backing lush Fleet Foxes-style harmonies with a Best Coast vibe.
