For the third consecutive year, both the Washington University men’s and women’s swimming teams took first place in the Wheaton Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Wheaton, Ill.
In the opening meet of the season, the Washington University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams fell short to NCAA Division I Saint Louis University on Friday.
Toppling a Division I opponent certainly didn’t constitute a bad start to the season for the Washington University women’s swim team, which defeated Saint Louis University Friday at the Millstone Pool. The 129.5-104.5 victory was the first for the Wash. U. women against SLU in 23 years.
Competing at the highest stage of the season, the Washington University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams knew that it was their time see their hard work pay off and bring pride to the Red and Green.
The jump from high-school to college athletics typically involves a bit of a learning curve, and that’s certainly true for most student-athletes here at Washington University.
