No. 9 women’s tennis advances to Elite 8 with shutout wins over Grinnell and Kenyon

The No. 9 WashU women’s tennis team hosted Grinnell College and Kenyon College in the opening weekend of the NCAA tournament on May 10 and 11. With two dominant wins, the Bears advanced to the Elite 8 and the NCAA Division III championship weekend for the second consecutive season.

TEDxWUSTL carries on ‘Momentum’ with powerful speaker event

Although Chancellor Andrew Martin’s inauguration ceremony occurred on Thursday, Oct. 3, that didn’t stop the Washington University community from continuing to celebrate the momentous occasion. Students took the lead on Friday, with TEDxWUSTL hosting a speaker event sharing the inauguration theme: Momentum.

Women’s golf swings to third place at Wash. U. invitational

The Washington University women’s golf team drove, chipped and putted their way to a third-place finish at the Eighth Annual Wash. U. Spring Invitational this weekend at the Tapawingo Golf Club. The No. 9 Bears finished behind No. 1 Carleton College and No. 6 DePauw University, but they edged out No. 4 Grinnell College.

Winded: Baseball blows game in frustrating 11-10 loss at hands of Grinnell

Despite being winded out of one game of Saturday’s doubleheader at Pioneer Park, the Washington University baseball team was still in for a marathon, falling in an 11-10 slugfest to Grinnell College.

The Washington University baseball team experienced a rare offensive lull this weekend against Grinnell College. The three losses and one win drop the Bears to 19-10 on the season.

Baseball loses two of three weekend home games

While the Washington University baseball team concluded the weekend with a much-needed victory, the Bears (8-12) lost two of three home games for the second weekend in a row. On Saturday, the Red and Green rallied from an early seven-run deficit, but the Bears could not hold the lead as they fell 10-8 in 11 innings against Grinnell College.

Bears dispose of Grinnell in 8-1 rout

Coming off a 6-0 loss to No. 2 Emory University in the University Athletic Association finals on April 17, the Washington University men’s tennis team bounced back with a convincing 8-1 victory over Grinnell College on Saturday. The No. 6 Bears started off the day with a 3-0 sweep in doubles for the seventh time this season.
