Entering the meet with high expectations as the nation’s top-ranked team, the squad delivered. From May 23-25, the team tallied 71 points, beating the runners-up University of Wisconsin – La Crosse by a remarkable 23.5 points to earn their second ever national championship. 

During the 2024 indoor track season, times set by Kelley, Sarussi, and graduate student Danielle Schultz made the WashU trio three of the 15 fastest runners in the 800 in all of Division III. Their success is emblematic of over a decade of dominance by the WashU track & field team’s women’s 400/800 meter training group.

Women’s track and field took home their seventh straight conference crown, while the other teams all finished in the top four of the conference, with many setting themselves up well for the NCAA championships in the coming weeks.

Kelley has won eight straight track heats in races ranging from 400 to 800 meters.

Both the men and women finished outside the top 10, as the men came 16th and the women 59th.
