Neither size nor press defense stops women’s basketball

Trailing for just 12 of the 80 minutes of game time, the Washington University women’s basketball team defeated Greenville University and No. 25 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges by wide margins this weekend. With these wins, the Bears have now won three straight games and improve to 5-2 on the season.

Volleyball knocked from tourney in first round

The Bears Volleyball faced Claremont-Mudd-Scripps earlier this year and lost a close, hard-fought match. Their match this past weekend reflected the first one on Sept. 13.

Taking place in Claremont, Calif. this past weekend, the East-West Challenge pitted Wash. U. against three ranked teams, including the defending national champions, Claremont Mudd Scripps.

Bears have winning weekend against top-25 teams

If this weekend’s matchups in Texas are any indication, then the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III top-25 rankings are spot on. The Washington University men’s tennis team lived up to its No. 5 ranking, defeating No. 11 Trinity University and No. 6 University of California, Santa Cruz but falling to No. 4 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
