Ed Macias to step down after 25 years as chief academic officer

After 25 years of serving as Washington University’s chief academic officer under a number of titles, Provost Ed Macias announced that he will be stepping down June 30, 2013. Macias, 68, who joined the University in 1970 as an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, said he plans to stay heavily involved in continuing the University’s growth.
