In an effort to show solidarity with the Charlottesville and University of Virginia communities, members of the Washington University class of 2021 penned a letter showing their support for those effected.

On Wednesday evening, the University sponsored an event called “Reflections: Unity, Social Justice and Peace.” As I took my seat among the small crowd in Graham Chapel, I did some reflecting of my own.

In a statement emailed to Washington University faculty and students, Chancellor Mark Wrighton publicly condemned the Aug. 11-12 “Unite the Right” rally and ensuing violence that crossed through the University of Virginia’s campus in Charlottesville, Va.
