Swimming and diving wins third straight meet at Illinois Wesleyan Invite

The Washington University swimming and diving teams won the Illinois Wesleyan Invite on Saturday, continuing its early season successes. On the men’s side, the No. 5 Bears earned 144 points, outpacing second-place Augustana College by 43 points. In the women’s competition, No. 6 Wash. U. tallied 177 points, beating second-place Illinois Wesleyan University by 62 points.

Women’s basketball has mixed season opener, splits tournament

Washington University’s women’s basketball team opened the season with a split in the Loras College Tipoff Tournament this weekend, falling to Loras College on Friday night, 93-81, before responding with a win in the tournament’s consolation game against Augustana College, 75-64. The Bears came home from their trip to Dubuque, Iowa with a 1-1 season record.

Just days after securing the third seed in the University Athletic Association, the Washington University volleyball team kept winning on Friday night at the Holiday Inn Express Classic III, beating the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and Augustana College.
