Dylan Richter was selected to the NACB Reese’s Division III All-Star Game after receiving 8,337 votes on D3Hoops.com, placing him in first place on the ballot with 22% of the total vote.

Fans voted Washington University men’s basketball senior guard Dylan Richter into the 2012 NABC Reese’s Division III All-Star Game, which will be held in Salem, Va. Richter, who averaged 16.4 points-per-game, won University Athletic Association Player of the Year and led his team to the second round of the NCAA playoffs, received one of the final two spots in the All-Star game, alongside St. Lawrence senior guard Ralph Temgoua.

Out of 37,757 votes cast for eight players, Richter finished first with 8,337 (22 percent), followed by Temgoua with 7,913 (21 percent).

Richter received a Twitter endorsement from musician Mike Posner on Tuesday. Posner visited Washington University as the headliner for Fall W.I.L.D. and played a pick-up basketball game with Richter and senior basketball players Alex Toth and Jake Seymour.

“It’s such an honor to be selected for this game,” Richter said. “And while I’m excited about the opportunity, it means so much more that so many people were willing to help out and lend a hand. I can’t thank everyone enough for their support.”
