Nightlife
Europe…not the continent
Location: 710 N 15th Street (about a $20 cab ride)
Pros: Located on the hip Wash. Ave, so if the wait is unbearable, there are tons of great bars in the area like Lucas Park or Lola. There are also a ton of restaurants close by if you want to indulge before your night out (we tried Kitchen K, and it was delicious). Great departure from the usual Morgan Street Thursdays, and of course, the performers are always stellar.
Cons: $5 cover to get in; most other Thursday night venues (like the well-liked Morgan Street Brewery) feature no covers. There is also no coat check—people threw their coats under the steps to get to the second floor and on the small supply of coat hooks. At the end of the night, many coats got swapped and, even worse, went missing.
Europe events to look forward to:
Saturday:
Steve Angello from Swedish House Mafia will be performing. Tickets are $25 and show is 18+, so don’t worry, underclassmen.
Friday, February 11:
All of you Jersey natives (and “Jersey Shore” fans) will be happy to hear that Pauly D is mixing!
Roll up your sleeves, kids, because things are about to get sweaty at Europe Nightclub.
In the expansive 5,000 square foot space located in downtown St. Louis, Wash. U. students were invited to dance, flirt and “club” with their friends. The occasion? To party like you would on any other Thursday night.
The two-story club offers two full-service bars, a private VIP room and an expansive balcony overlooking the massive dance floor. And if that’s not enticing enough, Europe is best known for its concerts and has hosted some of Eastern Europe’s most famous DJs. The Redzic couple, along with Mike and Bobbi Vujevic, have partnered to provide St. Louis with an upscale, European-style nightclub. Although the word “upscale” may not be the first word that pops to mind when entering this warehouse-like place, its high quality sound system is absolutely mind blowing and rarely found in the Midwest. During our experience, the music was so loud that it left our ears ringing. The lights flashed similar to a rave and the DJ spun the top Euro-hits like Alors On Danse by Stromae. And just to show you how popular this place is becoming, there was a 30-minute wait outside the door to get in.
Worth it? No question, it was one of the best nights of the year!
