With Portlandia started back up, and midterms in full-force, now is a great time to reflect on some Portlandia favorites to relieve stress and laugh a bit. Here are some of my favorite clips:

1. Around the World in 80 Plates
If Craig’s Crazy Guac Tac’s sound like something found in the DUC, you’re mistaken. The Around the World in 80 Plates sketch shows an extremely aggressive waiter in a restaurant with an expansive “fun” menu and two diners just trying to get a quick meal. If you’ve ever felt like funny names for food or an overly long list of specials were over-the-top, this restaurant takes it even further.

2. Put a Bird on It
I can’t explain it either, but this is the first sketch anyone mentions when I ask if they like Portlandia. The sketch is a fake-commercial for a small business that sells furniture and home goods with birds on things. Things take a turn from bird-paradise by the end, and the commercial probably would never make it on television.

3. No You Go
Every driver has been there: an awkward intersection made worse by two drivers both waving each other through. Of course, if no one chooses to go, you’re stuck, but if both drive through at the same time, it’s a crash. Here Portlandia makes fun of the occasion with an interaction between two drivers that just keeps escalating.

4. Food Coma
“I was mad at my salad. It was like not eating,” Fred Armisen’s character said. Sometimes eating a big unhealthy lunch is what you want beforehand, but the resulting food coma can ruin your productivity. This quick clip shows an office completely shut-down after going out for burgers.
