With a last-second victory against the University of Chicago last weekend, the Washington University women’s basketball team clinched the UAA championship, guaranteeing them an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament and their 28th consecutive playoff appearance.
That young girl was Jenn Dynis, current senior and captain of the Washington University women’s basketball team. She’s one of three players on the women’s basketball team who transferred from Division I programs, the other two being senior Zoe Vernon and sophomore Madeline Homoly.
On Friday afternoon, Zoe Vernon was feeling the love. With the Bears stampeding back from a 14-point deficit, the junior forward came off the bench to score eight points in the final two minutes of regulation. That effort lifted the No. 10 ranked Washington University women’s basketball team dramatic comeback fashion 57-54 over Carnegie Mellon University.
