Student Life, Washington University’s independent student newspaper, won 18 awards in the 2018 Missouri College Media Association newspaper contest, which honors outstanding collegiate journalism published in the state in 2017.

Student Life won first place in the Division 1 Sweepstakes category, which awards papers points for wins in each of the 25 different categories. This represents an improvement from last year, when the paper took second place in the Sweepstakes category. Student Life also won the second place award in the Division 1 category for best overall newspaper, losing out to Missouri State University’s The Standard.
