The No. 11 WashU volleyball team dominated the opening day of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship on Friday, Nov. 15, defeating New York University and No. 16 Case Western Reserve University in single-elimination matchups. These victories propelled the Bears into Saturday’s championship game against No. 6 Emory University, where they fell 3-0.
WashU took to the Coogan XC Course in Attleboro, Massachusetts for the 2024 conference championships, where both the men’s team and women’s team delivered strong performances and earned podium finishes. Competing against some of the top programs in the nation, the Bears demonstrated both depth and resilience, as each team secured third place and laid the groundwork for a promising NCAA postseason.
“We’re all hungry to redeem ourselves after last year having not been at nationals. We’re going to show up this year and compete against the best teams and show that we deserve to be here.”
The men’s and women’s track teams both won the UAA Championships this weekend.
