On Sunday night, the most-watched cable television show in America premiered its fifth season to its usual fanfare. Despite being maligned viciously by critics over the past few seasons, we Americans still cannot have our fill of flesh-craving walkers eating slightly disheveled survivors.

This Sunday, AMC’s hit show “The Walking Dead” will return from its midseason break of season two. The show follows the exploits of a group of survivors in the post-apocalyptic wasteland ruled by the undead.

In the first scene of AMC’s new zombie series, “The Walking Dead,” Deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) is driving around an undefined town when his gas runs out. He gets out of the car but can’t find any signs of life.
