I first heard about NAP on Oct. 27, the Friday morning before Halloween, when the SPB mysteriously appeared in my inbox. It was an email titled “SPB Presents a Night at the Pageant: NAP!”
Washington University’s Social Programming Board (SPB) announced Saint Motel as the headliner for this semester’s fall WILD, which has been rebranded as the Night at the Pageant. The event will be on Thursday Nov. 9th, at the Pageant, off campus for the first time since the event’s origin in 1973.
Saint Motel is one of the biggest names on the indie scene, described as being anywhere from adventure-rock to dream-pop, not exactly fitting into a specific genre, but has managed to carve out their own niche.
On a Tuesday eve just days before break, the campus was quiet with everyone tucked away in dorm rooms and library cubicles preparing for fast-approaching final exams. A few doors down on the Delmar Loop, however, the night was far from quiet.
