Police make arrest for Melville robbery

University City Police have arrested and charged Bryant N. Taylor for the robbery of sophomore Eric Tsai on Sunday evening. Taylor, 20, who lives on the 7700 block of Folk Avenue, has been charged with 2nd degree robbery in connection to the mugging of Tsai and sophomore Aaron Belkin on the 500 block of Melville Avenue around 7:50 p.m. Sunday.

Students mugged near Loop; friend helps them capture assailants

Two students were mugged at the corner of Waterman and Melville avenues Sunday evening but helped police arrest two of their assailants after a friend came to their aid. Sophomore Aaron Belkin said he and classmate Eric Tsai were mugged by four assailants as they were walking toward the Delmar Loop.

Two robbery incidents occur Thursday, crime alert sent Friday

Thursday evening two robberies occurred near-campus; however, the University body was not made aware of these incidents until an e-mail announcement was sent out on Friday morning. At 8:30 pm Thursday evening, a graduate student’s fiancée was accosted by three suspects outside of her apartment in the 6300 block of Cabanne, located in University City.

Student robbed on Kingsbury

A male student was robbed Wednesday evening on Kingsbury Boulevard near Kingsland Avenue. The victim was walking on Kingsbury alone at approximately 7:20 p.m. when three people walking in the opposite direction to the victim disrupted the victim’s walk. One suspect hit him and another suspect took his backpack.

Students robbed at the corner of Big Bend and Lindell

Early Sunday morning, two students were robbed at gunpoint at the corner of Big Bend Boulevard and Lindell Boulevard. A black male adult between 26 and 30 years of age, wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a dark blue baseball cap, approached the students with a handgun.

Robbery sparks an up in security

All was not well on Wednesday at approximately 1:50 a.m. While crossing the Greenway Walkway, the path connecting the bridge over Forest Park Parkway to Melville Avenue, two Washington University students were robbed at gunpoint. Senior Chris Willcox and a friend had been working at the library when they decided to take a break and meet some friends on the Loop.

Robbery near overpass leads to extended Campus2Home hours

The robbery of two undergraduate students on the Greenway Walkway, the path connecting the bridge over Forest Park Parkway to Melville Ave., has led the University to expand Campus2Home shuttle service hours to near sunrise. A female undergraduate was raped and robbed by an unknown suspect on Monday morning around 12:30 a.m., according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
