Former Washington University football player Jonathan Howard hasn’t missed watching a National Football League draft since he was 10 years old. More than a decade later, he realized his dream of working in professional sports when the New England Patriots hired him as a scouting assistant for the team.

Wash. U. alumnus Jeff Lesser talked with the Olin Sports Management Organization and the Olin Business Council on Friday about how he found his current job with the St. Louis Blues. Student Life spoke with Lesser about working for a professional sports team, something he called a “dream job”; the Blues; and the sports industry.

Arte Moreno, owner of the the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, spoke to members of the Olin Sports Management Organization this past Thursday. Moreno is the highest profile guest of the club, which looks to help Wash. U. students land jobs in the sports industry.
