If you didn’t know Cody Stuive’s name before Saturday, no one would blame you. He’s a senior, he plays for Hope College and prior to his team’s second round clash with Washington University, he was a fairly nondescript small forward–the third or fourth scoring option for a pretty good basketball program.
The Washington University men’s basketball team won its 14th conference championship this weekend, securing the title with road wins against New York University and Brandeis University.
The home crowd erupted when sophomore guard Kevin Kucera connected on a 30 foot buzzer beater over a Yellowjacket defender. Not that it mattered.
