Just like any other year, 2013 was full of some truly great pop culture moments. Here are a few of Cadenza’s picks of the best. Beyonce knocks the lights out at the Super Bowl It was a refreshing change for the Super Bowl halftime show; instead of washed-up rock bands, a relevant pop star played.

Movie review: ‘Gravity’

When I was growing up, I was never one of those ambitious kids who wanted to be an astronaut. Director Alfonso Cuaron’s new movie, “Gravity,” a thriller about two astronauts stranded in space, did not change those ambitions, but it opened my eyes to the wonders of space. It’s a breathtaking thrill ride from start to finish, as devoid of faults as space is of sound.

5th Show Me STyLez brings hip-hop, B-boys to Gargoyle

With the crowd screaming and the hosts swearing in admiration as he pulled off flips and more exotic “airflare suicides” in the Gargoyle, Miguel Rosario aka Gravity and his two-man crew stole the fifth annual Show Me STyLez competition Saturday.
