Washington University’s golf team claimed the top two spots as the Bears coasted to a win in the NCAA Division III Preview this weekend.
The fall sports season is already underway, from Minnesota to Francis Field and Forest Park. Here’s what you missed this week.
The Washington University women’s golf team drove, chipped and putted their way to a third-place finish at the Eighth Annual Wash. U. Spring Invitational this weekend at the Tapawingo Golf Club. The No. 9 Bears finished behind No. 1 Carleton College and No. 6 DePauw University, but they edged out No. 4 Grinnell College.
Each spring, various Wash. U. teams travel thousands of miles, flying to preseason warm ups, tournaments against high-ranking opposition and even national championships.
Men’s soccer took on a conference foe, the golf team traveled to Ohio and while fall WILD was taking place in Brookings, swimming and diving and volleyball both hosted competitions.
The Washington University women’s golf team finished up its season this weekend, traveling to Normal, Illinois to compete with 22 other schools in the Kathy Niepangan Spring Fling, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University. The Bears had a strong outing, finishing second overall and first among Division III teams.
The spring sports season has passed its midpoint, with a little less than a month left for most of Washington University’s teams. This weekend offers plenty of Red and Green on the docket, with only the No. 18 baseball team out of action. Let’s take a look at the other five Bears teams playing this weekend.

The No. 14 Washington University golf team used a final round 307 to snag fourth place in its final match of the season at the 2016 Kathy Niepagan Spring Fling this weekend in Joliet, Ill.
