SU’s plan for the year centers around three goals that acknowledge the unusual and persistent challenges students face: health, equity and connection

In addition to writing the editorial, we had one of what will be many serious conversations about Student Life as part of the Washington University community and the absolute privilege we possess as a wholly independent publication.

There are people on this campus who don’t know what it is like to have to constantly search for themselves in spaces, and this is a privilege.

Washington University will establish a Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity in fall 2019.

In an announcement during the fifth annual “Day of Discovery, Dialogue & Action,” Chancellor-elect Andrew Martin announced the launch of a university-wide center, which will promote interdisciplinary research on race and ethnicity.

In an op-ed submitted to Student Life and authored to college campuses across the nation, President Barack Obama identifies national problems caused by the cost of higher education and outlines the steps his administration is taking to solve them. Though American higher education is the best in the world, a lack of ability to afford it has left many without access.
